Hi all,
Now that both Player Core 1 and Player Core 2 have been released, I have a request that I think would be extremely useful for players using the Remaster rules. I would really like the ability to completely hide all content from the Core Rulebook and Advanced Players Guide from showing up in the character builder. The reason for this is that there are still items that were Remastered, renamed, and changed enough that the old Legacy version still shows up in the builder along with the Remaster version. I tend to report this kind of thing when I see it, like my post from about a month ago about a Champion I was building that was still showing a ton of unnecessary Legacy options. But I do think a more helpful solution would be to just hide all the content from both of those books. I think this we clear a lot of clutter in the builder, and would be particularly helpful for newer players trying to figure out what options they can take. I do think this should be an optional filter, but with PC 1 and 2 released there isn’t anything left from the old CRB and APG that I’m interested in having in the builder.
For what it’s worth we’re also working on cleaning up those old CRB and APG entries so they don’t show up unless you specifically enable legacy content. That said, I’ll pass the feedback along, it ties in with other requests I’ve seen for a better way to filter.
I do appreciate that it’s something that you’re working on, and I do hope you pass the feedback on. I really love Demiplane and I know the remaster really created a mess for basically every Pathfinder compendium and character builder out there. I do think being able to filter out sources has a lot more uses than the one I mentioned, such as being able to filter out content from adventure modules that you don’t want your players to have access to. But at this point there’s enough changes in terminology and rules, particularly for spellcasters, that I would love to just be able to filter out everything that hasn’t been remastered lol. Like I’ve lost count of the number of times a player told me that their spell didn’t provoke reactive strikes because it doesn’t have the manipulate trait, but it’s a pre-remaster spell with somatic casting. Dealing with Legacy stuff that is alignment-based is also a headache. Best for my brain to just get rid of all of it for now and wait for the remastered versions to come out.
