Hi, I’m sure everyone’s becoming aware that there is an Alien 2nd edition on the way. Probably a bit soon to know the answer but I’ll ask anyway!
Will the new version be supported on Demiplane or Roll20 now that they own Demiplane?

Also @MellieDM …how’s that option to print character sheets going? It’d be super handy for my luddite players who hate having 6 laptops around the table.
We absolutely plan to support the new edition. 
And printing characters is still in the works, but as sklore_jp pointed out, we’ve just released two! More to come.

Will people have to buy the new version when it comes out or will the manual just get updated?
When the new version of Alien comes out it will be a separate purchase and include a bunch of new content. It will however be fully compatible with previous releases and game material.
Free League have said “the PDFs of Building Better Worlds and Colonial Marines Operations Manual will be automatically updated to the Evolved Edition on DrivethruRPG”, “as the changes are so minor”; do you know if there are any plans to extend this to the Demiplane version, too?

I’ve redeemed the codes for Evolved Edition that I got via the Kickstarter, and they’re now listed as “Preordered” - is there a date for when this will go live?

So I bought the Evolved Core bundle. but DP’s character builder is still the ‘old’ edition. How do I make it Evolved please?

Hey JohnCoffey, sorry for the confusion here. I’ve taken some time to look over the Alien Nexus and I think I understand what’s going on here.
By default if you own Alien Evolved Edition it’s going to only use content from Evolved, this is why there’s a toggle switch to turn ON first edition content. You won’t see a toggle for Evolved because it’s now the default.
As far as the issue with the Origins goes can you explain a little bit more? The Origins shown in your screenshot, Human and Synthetic are detailed in the Evolved book with Synthetic being a sidebar within the character creation rules. My understanding is that there are some very slight changes to the Synthetic between first edition and Evolved. As long as the toggle to use first edition content is turned OFF then you’ll use the rules for synthetics from Evolved, whereas if you turn that toggle ON it will use the rules for synthetics from first edition.
The Origins not shown in the screenshot, Artificial Womb Soldier, and Cat aren’t available in Evolved yet considering that we pulled them from the Colonial Marines book and the Heart of Darkness adventure respectively. I believe they still show up on the Character Builder because of limitations in how content is displayed here.
I hope this helps address some of the confusion but if not please let me know what’s still unclear and I’ll see what we can do to clarify things further!
