Best Value - Nexus & PDF

Am I better off:

  • buying the Starfinder 2e Player Core PDF from Paizo, syncing my accounts and buying the Nexus version at the discount,

or

  • Buying the Nexus version, syncing my accounts and getting the PDF for free from Paizo?

Or do the two options cost exactly the same?

If you’re looking for the most money-efficient option (and if you were going to buy GM Core, Alien Core, and Galaxy Guide anyways), first buying the discounted Ultimate Bundle on Nexus and then getting free PDFs from Paizo seems to be the way to go. At least, that’s the way I’m doing it. [EDIT: Since I bought the bundle, they added Murder in Metal City to the it, making it more costly overall. Ah well.]

Just note that the free Player Core PDF from Paizo won’t be available until Nexus finishes update on their end, which is supposed to happen later today.

as a side note to this, if you’re wanting to have the physical, PDF, and Nexus copies of the books, then the cheapest way is probably to get the subscription from Paizo, which gives you a free PDF, which then discounts the Nexus copy here. I’d wait until you have the 3 base core books before buying the nexus bundle, though, since you wouldn’t get a retroactive discount if you buy the nexus bundle now then get the subscription PDFs later.

again, though, this is only cheaper if you want all 3 versions. if you only want digital, then buying the nexus bundle and getting the free pdfs that way is the cheapest, i’m pretty sure.
