One of the things I have been thinking about being very new to Pathfinder 2e, but being a veteran of Pathfinder 1e and D&D in every edition but 5e. What rules if any are in other editions that could be adapted to P2e at a home table to make the game run smoother?
Example, spell preparation from dnd 5e is far easier for a new player to grasp, but would it work in P2e?
There is a way in Secrets of Magic that give spellcasting like 5e to prepared spellcaster and there are variant rules in the GMG that can make it similar to 5e.

Flexible caster will work well for that, but expect low spell slot numbers.
Overall it’s generally considered a bad idea to mess with the rules until you know them well, but as long as you’ve played a few games and know the rules it should be fine.
