Campaigns: NPCs Tab

So I had assumed this is where as a GM I would add character sheets for NPCs (GM controlled characters) but I guess this is just where I can store collections of “creatures” … I was able to make tags and toggle visibility but I’m confused about what it means to add versus import

Following, and seconded. Is this tool only for adding stock NPCs that are straight from published sources? Is there any way to add a custom NPC, or is the only option to find a stock NPC and try to modify them to fit my needs?

At the moment you can add stock NPCs to the NPCs tab but you can also import NPCs that you’ve edited so that you have an easy way to keep them. To use the import function you paste the URL of the edited NPC and it stores that NPC so that you no longer have to keep lists of URLs if you want to save your edited NPCs.

Ok, fair enough. Personally, I’d love to see a way to build an NPC from a blank slate rather than having to modify an existing one. I don’t think it needs to be a full on handholding NPC builder equivalent to the character builder that exists now (though that would be awesome); just a simple blank template stat block that GMs could input stats and details into would do the trick.

Ok, I just tried this feature out. It’s cool that you can add attacks or spellcasting features, but one thing that seems to be missing is the ability to add items. For example, I wanted to add a certain magic staff to my NPC caster, but the closest I was able to come was adding the staff itself as a new spellcasting feature and then individually adding each spell thereon. It was a workaround, and sort of gets the job done, but definitely not a super elegant one, is missing key info (like in this case, number of charges).

From what I understand this will be part of us releasing homebrew.
