So just tried to add a Deflective Field to my Skittermander Soldier and when I go to install it into my Microcord Armor I can’t. Instead the Deflective Field looks like it wants me to equip it into one of my hands. My guess is this is because it is a shield, but this specific shield talks about how you can’t wield it but instead install it into a weapon or armor.
On another point I thought of while writing this is as a Skittermander I don’t see any options for equipping stuff to other hand pairs so that I can switch weapon/item sets as an action.
