Dungeon Max's SKT Finale Feedback (light spoilers)

So we’ve finished our Sky King’s Tomb run. I ended up rewriting many elements of the adventure path including the ending to be more satisfying and a good time was had by all as they rediscovered the way back to Felgunn. Just a little feedback as we close this out.

To the very end, our investigator never fully got their strategic strike attack modifier down. Adding a single entry for this under actions for the feat would have been a great improvement to our campaign.

Playing the BBEG for this adventure (a spell caster) it would really help if linked spell listings on stat blocks gave the upranked (heightened) versions for damage up front rather than having me recalculate for them.

Non-subscribers having only 7 character slots may have made sense earlier for this website, but my players have now completed multiple APs and have no space to hold onto their characters while making new ones for the next adventures and rather than delete characters that they’ve built memories around, and they are opting for other builders for future campaigns. It might make sense to allow “retiring” characters to not count against the character slot limit. When a campaign reaches an end, if the player can mark the sheet as “retired” and lock it from changes so that the character doesn’t count against the limit, the player can keep using demiplane. Maybe require characters to have existed for more than 60 days or 90 days or something before they can be retired to prevent abuse.

I’ve not faced issues with logins for a while, but I have players still complaining about logging in each time, getting asked to opt out of newsletters each time, and having issues loading their character sheet in a reasonable amount of time. For our final session we gathered in person and one player couldn’t load on an iPad so they needed to play from another room on their desktop computer. Still hoping for more optimization.

Some kind of shared rolling feature would be really nice… I have a few players that are almost certainly fudging their rolls, and I’ve tolerated it mostly because I feel like anyone fudging is actually hurting their own fun the most… but I’d really love to have shared rolling either in demiplane or into discord via something like Avrae, etc.

GM tools like the screen at archives of nethys, faster rules lookup, a way to link character sheets to a simplified view like I’ve shared before so I can do secret rolls, an encounter builder with rollable enemy stats and XP calculation, a rollable version of combined tables for treasure, a shared loot repository … The wishlist for GM/campaign tools is long.

Anyway, so it doesn’t come across as just negative, I want to thank the team for making tools that made both my Season of Ghosts and Sky King’s Tomb campaigns work as my players and I transitioned from 5e to Pathfinder over the last about two years and I continue to post here and max out my starfinder/pathfinder/daggerheart libraries because we’ve already started Kingmaker and Abomination Vaults as follow up campaigns on Demiplane and I look forward to your continuing development and release of better support for us.

I’ve got this in as a suggestion/request so that we can look into doing something like this.

I’ve got this one also in as a piece of feedback/request.

This might be a hard sell but I’ve got the request in so that we can look into it further.

I hate to hear that they weren’t able to get logged in on their iPad. While it doesn’t make up for the issues they experienced I can say that optimizations are always at the top of the list.

We’re reworking the groups feature and I believe that shared rolls are on the list for things we’re considering adding to that. Also, I know you prefer other VTTs but I’d be remiss to not mention that using the Demiplane character sheet within Roll20 will allow you to share rolls in the VTT.

GM tools are still in progress and I’ll make sure that they know you’re looking forward to them.

Feedback, especially yours, never comes across as just negative. We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know what you’re looking for and what you need to better run your games. I hope your Kingmaker and Abomination Vaults games go wonderfully!

Just reiterating Eve and saying feedback is always valuable, and I never see it as just negative. It’s important to us and I’m so thankful you take the time to share it after you run your sessions. :blue_heart:

As someone who runs a SaaS service for a living I can understand the limits on free tier characters. They take up space somewhere in the cloud and you guys (Demiplane) need to pay for that space somehow, either by paying a cloud provider or buying your own storage infrastructure.

I don’t know what @pr.chrismoore 's players would think about this, but maybe a good middle ground involves some more investment in the PDF tooling or some other way a player could export/import their character(s) from/to Demiplane and keep the export themselves for the memories.

Maybe that’s not as hard of a sell.
