Hi, I’m new to traveller and to this Nexus so please excuse my ignorance.
Is there any way to change a character’s stats after character creation.
E.g. to change Dex from 12 to 10, or change Soc from 6 to 9?
I know you can make temporary adjustments in game sessions but I want to be able to change the full “natural” stats.
Thank you.
I believe you can reset the Background of your character, from the Background tab. Whether that means you would have to re-roll the characteristics, or could just tweak them, I’m not sure and I don’t want to test it on my already created characters.
This is as far as I got:
From Demiplane Home, select Games > Traveller, and then select Create Character.
There should be a gallery of your created characters here. Select the three “…” dot menu to the right of the character name you wish to tweak, and then select “Edit Character.”
Select “Background” tab from the left, and then select the “Reset Background” button.
Untortunately it says
“Resetting the Background will remove ALL Careers and Terms you may have completed. Are you certain you wish to reset this character?”
Do you have a game rule in mind when you wanted to change the stats?
Because I cannot think of a rule from the Core Rulebook that allows you to do that.
Or, is it a Homebrew rule you wanted to use? Demiplane doesn’t look particularly “Homebrew” friendly, if you ask me. However, if you look here, you will see that maybe they are thinking about correcting that:
Demiplane Homebrew
That is all I can think of at the moment. Someone else might come along with more experience on the matter.
Hi,
Thanks for the replies Nigel.
I have characters created with paper and pencil and wanted to try using them on this Nexus thing.
But it is difficult to do it correctly and I ended up needing to tweak what I had got.
Which is where my original post came from really.
The Roll20 character sheet is easier to use.
I would recommend using that for for your pre-built character.
I feel thaf the Demiplane generator is a bit clunky when it comes to Traveler - though, awesome for all other games.
It needs to be more customizable and easier to use.
Which is why I recommend the Roll20 version instead.
It can be edited in way nor only for 2ed - the new edition as well.
Thank you Razor, I have never used Roll20, do I have to pay for Traveller rules on there as well?
Yeah, Roll20 has a Free tier and character sheets are free to use - your DM sets up the game and then chooses the character sheet.
Thank you, I will try it out.
There is/was a deal where, if you bought Traveller Nexus rulebooks, you’d automatically get cross-platform sync with Roll20 - no additional purchases required. Whether that deal is still available, I don’t know.
