It says “preparing your pdf…” for a bit then just turns back into the Export to PDF button…
I have found that to be the case too. It does work on PC, if I enable popups.
Worked from the Edge browser!…
Hi there RPGeezer and SaintedSquid!
First off, glad to hear it worked in Edge.
As the PDF takes time to generate and then opens in a new window, you may need to enable ‘pop-ups’ from the character sheet. On mobile/tablet devices, this setting can usually be found from inside the browser app → browser settings.
I have also been unable to access pdfs. I tried on my pc using the Edge and Brave browsers and on my iPad using Safari and Brave. I have it so that pop-ups should be able to open, yet am unable to get the pdf to show up. By the way, this is for the Vampire Nexus. Please help.
Hi there rmarsh936!
On my iPad with Safari, I am able to get PDF to work by doing the following:
- Open Settings App
- Navigate to Safari settings (Search bar → Safari)
- Block pop-ups slider to “Off”
- Open Safari app and navigate to/login to Demiplane, open character
- Open drawer and click Export to PDF, it takes 30 seconds-1 minute to generate
- A message appears advising me that the site is attempting to open a pop-up
- Click “Allow”
- PDF opens in a new tab in Safari app
I don’t have a PC, but would you be able to double-check these settings in Brave and/or Edge?
BRAVE
- Type in Brave://settings in the search bar or the settings option in the menu.
- Click the search icon at the top right of the page once it opens and search for “pop” to narrow down the options.
- At the bottom of the filtered options you should see “Site and Shield Settings”, click on that.
- Scroll down until you see “Pop-Ups and Redirects”, click on that.
- There should now be the ability to add sites to the “Allow” or “Block” list. So, add whatever site you like to the “Allow” list. Ensure app.demiplane.com is on that list.
EDGE
- In Edge, go to Settings and more at the top of your browser.
- Select Settings > Cookies and site permissions.
- Under All permissions, select Pop-ups and redirects.
- Go the Allow section, and then select Add.
- Ensure app.demiplane.com is included in the list (starting with the https:// portion at the beginning)
I believe Edge works similar to Chrome, where even if you have a site allowed it will still attempt to block it the first time, and mark in your address bar that it was attempted. You can then click the little blocked icon to allow it, which opens the PDF in a new tab. On my end with Chrome on Macbook, after the first time I haven’t needed to do the extra clearance a second time.
I hope some of this helped–please let us know if you continue to encounter issues!
