Fearless Ability

Hello there,

About the Inferis ability:

Fearless: When you roll with Fear, you can mark 2 Stress to make it a roll with Hope instead.

  1. Does it means that the GM does not get the Fear you get a Hope and also you don’t get the negative consequence of rolling with Fear? Or it means that the GM does get the Fear you get a Hope and also you don’t get the negative consequence of rolling with Fear?

  2. The War Wizard ability says “When you succeed on an Attack Roll with Fear , you deal an extra 1d10 magic damage.” Can you deal the extra d10 magic damage and use Fearless to change it to a Hope result?

You treat the roll as if it were a roll with Fear, so no consequences of a Fear roll are felt: The GM does not gain Fear, and the consequences of the scenario play out as if you rolled with Hope, not with Fear.

For War Wizard, use of the Fearless ability would negate the additional damage, as that roll would then be considered a roll with Hope, and not a roll with Fear.

Hope this helps
