Future Plans

First of all, your character sheets are beautifully rendered and the ones I have made characters in have worked very well.

I get to the end of the character creation process and I’m left with the feeling of “So…what now; I built a character in a system that I can’t really do anything more. I can’t link it to another VTT outside of Roll20 which I don’t use”. I see you are building more character sheets, great.

My questions are all around what do you see as your purpose in the VTT and online Roleplaying marketplace:

  • Do you see yourselves as mostly a get together at a “physical table and play” type of platform?
  • Do you have a timeframe on connecting to other VTTs? Anything around this would be helpful, this year? 2 years out?
  • Will the rules be embedded in this platform as reference material at some point, a library for game systems? Does that exist and I am missing it?

Personally, I would be happy for them to finish one line before starting another. So much content is still not in PF2. As for the rules, at least for the systems I use, the books are all here and Demiplane is a phenomenal digital reader.

I do not see them ever working with another VTT seeing as Roll 20 owns them.

Yes, I really wish they would focus on the systems they currently have before adopting more systems.

I didn’t know that Roll20 owned Demiplane. If that is the case and they will not be implementing an API for other VTTs then Demiplane will not be something I am pursuing. I have used Roll20 in the past but in it’s current state there are other tools that I finding better serve the gaming groups which I play.

Sorry to hear that, I know Roll20 isn’t everyone’s preferred VTT but if you wanted to give it another look we have a video on YouTube that covers a lot of our recent updates.

I’ll answer your original questions in order just in case it’s still helpful!

  • I personally feel that we can make play at a physical table better but it’s definitely not the only thing we’re focused on. Our mobile responsive design makes having your character sheet open on your phone or a tablet a great way to play in person. The last in person game I had I could usually pull up rules faster than the GM!

  • I can’t say too much at the moment about plans with other VTTs. Our primary focus in this space is the integration with Roll20 which we want to really nail.

  • Finally yes the rules for all the systems we support are available within Demiplane! You can purchase the core rulebook and sourcebooks for any of our supported games and you’ll find the full text of the book carefully reproduced with tooltips and links provided to make looking up a rule easy.

Thanks for the interest and if you happen to have any other questions please feel free to let me know!

I really enojy using this platform for character generation and with only a few glitches it operates really well. What other systems are on the dvelopment idea board? what say to do have in what gets developed - do systems come to you or do you approach them?
I saw a thread about Werewolf and seeing as you are finishing Vampire, any of the other world’s of darkness shouldn’t be too hard to adapt. Yay
What other IPs - I would love to see Star Wars or Outgunned. Or Even Dragonbane and Vaesen.

Thanks

I can’t speak too much about what’s coming. Our next Nexus Platform will be Traveller and we’re currently working on Campaigns and Homebrew. We’ve also announced that Fabula Ultima will be coming to Demiplane in the future.

As far as other systems go it’s really a tossup about how they come to be on Demiplane. In general though I’d say they usually approach us about it. If there’s something you really want to see on Demiplane you can let us know here of course but it generally does more to also let the publisher know that you’d like to see them on Demiplane.

All that said I’ll pass along your excitement about Star Wars, Outgunned, Dragonbane, and Vaesen. Personally I’d love to see Vaesen.

Would absolutely love Draw Steel support.

It’s a dense game with lots of rules, and there’s much more nuance to the whole collaborative element between companies than just “Hey you guys should add Draw Steel,” but would love it either way.

Though they are developing their own VTT, might not be possible to consolidate one game system into two VTT’s if one if owned by MCDM and the other may just end up as a competitor.

Is Scion still coming to Demiplane?

Yes! We still plan to release Scion on Demiplane but I don’t have a timeframe for when that will happen.
