I joined a group a couple weeks ago and messaged the owner of the group but haven’t heard anything back and don’t even know if the group is active. How do I leave that group if I don’t want it showing in my group list?

When you go into the group from the groups listing page, are you able to see this option in the top right?
If so, clicking/tapping on it should bring up management settings for you. At the bottom of the list should be a “Leave Group” option. Let me know if that works, or if you’re unable to leave through that method. 
Clicking and tapping don’t open a menu of any kind.
