Thanks for sharing this! I’m not able to replicate the issue on my end, so I’d love to know what operating system you’re using.
We do have a planned pass to optimize the character tools for Firefox and other browsers, but until that time, we do recommend using Chrome for the character tools. 
my os is windows 10, and the browser is firefox. would opera gx work as well as chrome?
Opera GX is much better than Firefox, but not 100% optimized yet. You’re definitely welcome to try it out and see how you like it!
