Why is there not a code to have access to books you’ve purchased physically for the character sheet online?

Right I just bought the core hardcover and the X-Men expansion if I want to use them on demi-plane I have to rebuy them digitally what’s the point.
Cody Lewis, of the Taking20 youTube channel, answers that question pretty thoroughly, at least with regard to D&D Beyond and physical books. But the answer is the same, because it’s just how the industry works. You can find that answer here:
