Mortal & ghouls (character options)

PLAYERS’S HANDBOOK (included Mortals & Ghouls): I cannot understand the reason that there is no option in the character creation process to have MORTALS. What is even stranger is that you do have ghoul and thin-blood merit options though - either I cannot figure out how to create a mortal base class or you expect us to use Thin-Bloods as a starting point.

RECOMMENDATION:

Using the same optional method for creating an Ancilla Character (under Preferences Toggle), you could add the following:

Players Guide - Mortal (Ghoul) Character Creation
Use alternate character creation rules introduced in Players Guide

In this manor, you can have it as a special addition for people with the Players Guide as it always should have been… because players may wish to start play as a mortal or human and/or create the sheets for MORTAL (allies/companions/etc.,) and Ghouls (allies, etc.).

I consider this a major oversight in your offering in the Players Guide. I know that you are busy, but your competators are starting to work on including Mortal/Ghoul Companions.

Something to consider, Mortal and Ghoul Characters should be able to add spells (as her Sorcerer Antagonist) and Disciplines (as Magician Antagonists) as per Anagnosits. As such, you can create PC Mortals/Ghouls, Companions/Allies (D&D Henchmen) Mortal/Ghousl, and BOSS LEVEL (vs generic) Antagonists.

I appreciate any work and future work in this direction.

Thanks for the request. I’ll pass it along!

Thank-You! I appreciate it. While mortals and ghouls may not access disciplines in the same manner as true vampires, I would ask that you include the ability to add these (reference: Alchemists - Human or Ghous; Magician (CR, p. 377), Cunning Folk, PScout, Pstriker, Sorcerer (SI, pp. 37-51).

I ask in part, because of my players and how easy and through your character development system is and because

  1. List item I like to create truly memorable plot point characters including Ghouls & Mortals (such as in The Chicago Folios).
  2. List item When my players expend a lot of hard won XP and spent it on Allies who are Ghouls or Mortal Humans (especially, Dangerous & Deadly where you essentially create a full NPC), I do not like to short change

At this time, I feel like the cookie-cutter monster stat blocks (e.g., Second Inquistition, pp 37-51).

For Example, Sorceress

  • General Difficulty: 4/2
  • Standard Dice Pools: Physical 4, Social 5, Mental 6
  • Secondary Attributes: Academics 7 Awareness 8, Occult 9

IMHO, does not compare to full character build for Deadly Ally (Stats):

  • Attributes: Two at 5, two at 4, two at 3, the rest at 2
  • Skills: One at 5, three at 4, five at 3, six at 2; three Specialties
  • Advantages: up to 15 points (no Flaws)

Thanks Again
