Issue is the title.
The advanced players guide has all the core rulebook classes, including alchemist, but purchasing the advanced players guide doesn’t allow choosing alchemist in the character sheet. It says you need player core or core rulebook.

The Alchemist class is not an option in the Advanced Player’s Guide, which offers the Investigator, Oracle, Swashbuckler, and Witch classes. In this case, it would be correct that you would need either Player Core 2 (where the remastered Alchemist was printed) or the Core Rulebook (where the original Alchemist was printed) to select this class in the character tools.
