Potential Bug Report: Radant Shardblade Bow

The radiant shardblade bow deals spirit damage which is confusing to me because it is unclear if the bow can create its own ammunition or not. Since the full radiant blade rules are yet to be released, I was unsure if this was an unintentional addition.

Hi there!

The information on the Shardblade is currently correct no matter what form you choose for it to take, based on the beta information provided to us.

I expect there’ll be more detailed information available in the full version of the game coming in 2025, as the Beta Rules do call out Shardbows as being a part of the full rules.

The full Stormlight Handbook includes other special weapons: Radiant Shardblades, the massive weapons known as Shardbows or Shardhammers, and fabrial shields called Half-Shards. It also details one of the Stormlight setting’s most iconic items: the magical power armor called Shardplate.

Per Stormlight Handbook/Items/Weapons/ Radiant Shardblade
Radiant Shardblades can be any non special MELEE weapon - not bows.

Malleable Form. You can use ▷ to change the shape of your Radiant Shardblade, choosing any non-special melee weapon on the Weapons table. Your Blade uses that weapon’s skill
and gains that weapon’s traits for as long as it’s in that shape; if you have an expertise
in the chosen weapon, it gains those expert traits as well.

You roll double the normal damage dice for that weapon (for example, a Shard longspear rolls 2d8 damage instead of 1d8), and it deals spirit damage instead of that weapon’s normal type.

In the Demiplane Cosmere character sheets changing the shardblades weapon type (see malleable form above) does not currently change the attributes and skills being used.

i.e. When using a shardblade knife the default is incorrect (Strength and heavy weapon skill)
This would need to be light weapons (spd)

i will add this as a seperate bug report

I’ve got a ticket filed to look into changing the skill when you change the weapon’s form. In the meantime you can click the weapon, then the three dots in the upper right corner of the popup that appears to Edit the skill used by the weapon.
