Marvel/Disney, the owner of the license, said no to printing.
again, this is not on Demiplane. They want to let us do it.
Marvel said no.
The work around is to create your character on Demiplane, then copy and paste the text from Demiplane into a form-fillable PDF.
Then you can print all you want. But itās not Demiplane that is refusing to let us do it any other way⦠itās Marvel. Direct your ire appropriately, please.
Qwert, Iāve read this forum thread. I understand Marvel wants the cash grab of their proprietary characters from drivethrurpg. Iām not asking to print Captain America here.
My created characters should be printable. As others have said before, and I have said, this would be a technically very easy thing to do.
As far as where to direct my āireā, this is the Demiplane forums, and if anyone is going to be able to put pressure on Marvel and relay the concerns of their user base, itās Demiplane.
I also know the option to manually re-enter all of the information into the blank character sheet PDF. Doing that, I might as well not even use the digital resource unless all of my players have access to Demiplane during a session.
In short, even if itās not Deminplane making that decision, they should continue to advocate for their customer base, and making noise about it is the way to let them know the issue is still important.
So youāre angry at Demiplane, even though you know this is something that they want to be able to do, and the reason for your anger is that Demiplane, a tiny little gaming website, isnāt strongarming Marvel, the cinematic Juggernaught that has absolutely dominated the movie industry for two decades?
Ok, dude. Just wanted to get that clear. Thanks.
Are you an employee of Demiplane? How do you know they arenāt trying to advocate for it? And if they advocate too strongly, what happens if Marvel/Disney pulls the license when itās up for renewal?
No, Iām not an employee of Demiplane. But again, youāre asking this tiny gaming website to push back on MARVEL, all so you can avoid spending four minutes copying and pasting text into a Form Fillable PDF.
Do us both a favor: Go yell at Marvel.
The folks at Demiplane have a hard enough job without having to deal with angry customers yelling at them for things that are out of their control.
Qwert. You input on this topic has been less than helpful. Demiplane is a small division of Roll 20 a large company with many parts. As Roll20 Drivethrurpg and Demiplane are all part of the same company and hold a license for The Marvel Multiverse role-playing game and thus if there is an issue we have with products they are distributor of then we aim our requests to them. Demiplane are the company that needs to push Marvel for what should be an easy fix.
I disagree. Qwert has been extremely pertinent in what heās saying. Heās right.
Thats your right to agree with him lile its mine to say he is wrong. Demiplane make these tools under license from Marvel(Disney) we are having an issue with the tool that is made by Demiplane the fact that this is coming from Marvel(Disney) isnāt really the point its a function the users of the tool set want. Now Roll20 the parent company has licencing agreements with Marvel(Disney) for 3 of there platforms and thus actually have a big enough say to put this to Marvel(Disney) and Demiplane can point out all the other partners that allow it pushing them to change. So we are right to keep asking Demiplane to seek this change. I have also tried to contact the email on the Marvel RPG page but have had no response. I find this also a weird situation as Demiplane has the license for the Alien nexus and there allowed to print there character sheet and Alien is a Disney owend IP.
I was replying to DarkKermit, sorry. I completely understand the issues at hand and am NOT pushing Demiplane in this.
My apologies⦠I misunderstood.
Peace to you!
For what itās worth, the last response from Demiplane staff requested we keep sounding off for support on this topic. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Might be better off being squeaky over on the marvel site though, since they are the ones to ultimately make the decision.
