It has come to my attention that there are heavy restrictions what characters my players can make under the released version. I can make the characters for them, but they are still unable to edit the characters on the aspects they do not own. For example if the character is a seraph, they will be unable to level up the character and I would need to do it for them. This seems extremely tedious.
Is this the intended way for it to work?
The short answer here is that it depends.
If you own the Daggerheart Core Book and have an active subscription then you can share the content that you own with your players (up to 24 people to be exact) and they’ll be able to create characters normally using that content.
Likewise if one of your players owns the Daggerheart Core Book they’ll also have full access to create characters using it’s contents.
If however you’re not sharing the book and they don’t own it themselves then they’ll be limited to content available in the Quick Start Adventure which is what it sounds like is happening here.
It seems like me not having the sub is the problem here.
Rather expensive burden for those that purchased the physical book at their local book or game store, or even a digital version of the book from someplace other than Demiplane.
Sure the Daggerheart site has a PDF for download, but it’s not a fillable PDF, which is rather worthless for us who game online since pencils don’t work on the internet. Of course, since all the links for fillable version, especially the Daggerheart Nexus buttons, just send us to Demiplane for a fillable version, these limitations become an expanding problem with more tentacles that don’t solve the initial and basic issue, a usable fillable character sheet PDF for Daggerheart.
I wouldn’t even be posting in a Demiplane forum on this except everything keeps pointing us right back to here.
