Unfortunately our hands are a little tied when we receive files on a delayed schedule. We’re fitting it in as soon as we can, but it’s gotta dance with a lot of items we locked in earlier on our list. I promise it’s important to us!
Thank you for all you’re doing.
Although of course I would love the system updated ASAP, I understand the time needed to make sure it all works. Here’s hoping it all goes smoothly!
Don’t let them off the hook, I been waiting since April for them to finish adding Secrets of Magic content from 4 years ago. This is what Roll 20 does, they lead it on. I bought in thinking it would be better, but they keep putting the content (PF2, now SF2) on the back burner while focusing on the other systems, content. I hate to see them keep doing this.
Any updates on a timeline for this?
Not just yet. We know it’s something that people are really looking forward to we’re just also having to balance it around a lot of other priorities. We will be working on it however.
bump.
We still can’t make Starfinder Society characters
Are there any updates? I appreciate that it can be tough to schedule but this has been in the status of “we need to schedule this” for over a month.
Like everything else I am in need of for my games, it’s likely been pushed aside.
I am actually beginning to feel nervous about this, and I’m usually fine with waiting. I’m aware that juggling eleven nexuses (nexi?) at once can be difficult, so if I knew how many other projects had a higher priority, I might have a slightly better understanding of how long it could take. Knowing that could make the waiting easier for me.
Except this is a major part of the Starfinder Society release. It is severely limiting creation options for it.
So, you have the files now.
Can you give an estimated date on when at least the backgrounds will be added? Just the backgrounds that will tie your new SFS character to the mega plot. Not even going to ask about the ancestries. Please don’t just say we are working on it and trying fit it into the schedule. Due not believe it is not to difficult to provide a date.
If a date can not be provided. Then is there a way that we can go in and override setting to create a personal background? To achieve the same desired end results?
Unfortunately I don’t have a date I can provide yet and custom backgrounds are something that will become available when we release the update to allow for homebrew.
Operating more and more like Roll 20 every day, the new shiny gets the attention and everything else pushed to the back, stuff from years ago that should already have been done will just be forgotten about, those that invested in product day 1 will just wind up being at a loss.
To be clear, we see updates on Daggerheart and Cosmere regularly, and sure there was a little update about PF2, but that was just moving a tiny bit of that product to the functionality you have been doing for the other games, and even that is still broken per reports on the PF2 pages.
Another week gone by without society content for characters.
I asked this on Paizo’s forums tonight, actually, and was curious if there’d been any update/timeline for it, since I just did my first Society game - and unfortunately we had to use PF2e sheets because the Shobhad ancestry isn’t available on Demiplane yet!
Just want to add my support behind the need for this. I think its necessity outpaces its size. It is a very small packet that has essential content for most everyone who wants to make a new Organized Play character.
OP here - almost can’t believe it’s been almost 2 months and still no progress on Invasion’s Edge Player’s Guide content!
It definately puts Demiplane at a major disadvantage (and also Roll20 by extension, which uses Demiplane for its SF2e character sheets).
I’ll probably not invest more in the platform. It’s become more practical to just use PDFs from Paizo directly and play on Foundry, rather than wait for the corporate overlords to delay their updates unexpectedly
Almost 2 months, and at this point over half a month since anyone from demiplane pretended to update us. I get they need to diversify on systems but if it takes 2 months to add this amount of content, maybe they’ve stretched themselves too thin.
They have spread themselves so thin that Starfinder, pathfinder, and cyberpunk (only systems I care about, though would love Dragonbane here) are all lacking content and not getting the updates that are very much needed. Because of this I still require herolab for characters in my games.
Hello all,
We have released the Player’s Guide and the the first five adventures today! See more on what released today here ~ October: Paizo Party!
Also noting that one of the problems we face is that PFS/SFS files come in very hot, sometimes as close as a couple days before it releases. That means we can rarely flip them around for the day-of release, and they shuffle into our backlog. Our team is very dedicated to getting our backlog out and we hope to have faster turn-arounds on society books in the future.
