Update Notes 6/1/2023

Hello all! A build is going out right now (give it five minutes maybe), and here are the update notes:

6/1/2023 Release Notes Character Builder Updates

  • We have added Beta Language support to the Character Builder and Sheet.

    • Language Support can be found in the “Details” tab of the Character Sheet and will auto-populate with any granted languages selected during the character creation process.

      • Players can add to or overwrite these notes.
    • Additionally, we have added a number to indicate the total number of languages the Character should be able to speak.

  • We have resolved an issue where the second page of Heritage lists repeated Heritage options.

Character Sheet Updates

  • We implemented a system to display the impact of a heightened spell when a specific item or character option grants it.

  • We have added Weapon Traits to the Weapon drawers.

  • We have added Beta Character Languages support to the Character Builder and Sheet.

    • A Character’s Languages can be found in the “Details” tab of the Character Sheet and will auto-populate with any granted languages selected during the character creation process.

      • Players can add to or overwrite these notes.
    • Additionally, we have added a number to indicate the total number of languages the Character should be able to speak.

Archetype Updates

  • Linguist

    • Linguist Dedication feat now adds the Multilingual feat twice. Previously, it was added only once.
    • The prerequisites for the Linguist Dedication feat are now triggering correctly.
    • The “Multilingual Cipher” feat now adds a circumstance bonus to Decipher Writing skill actions.
  • Loremaster

    • If a character has Bardic Lore, the Loremaster Dedication feat adds +1 to the Bardic Lore skill.

    • Loremaster Lore now scales with any of the Decipher Writing skills.

    • The additional feats granted by the Loremaster archetype now show as having met prereqs, even if the Character does not have the Enigma muse.

    • Orthographic Mastery adds the ‘Decipher Writing’ skill action under the Loremaster Lore skill.

    • The Quick Study feat now adds a trained Lore skill that the user can rename from the Drawer.

      • To rename this skill, visit the Quick Study Feat drawer or the relevant Lore skill drawer.
    • Greater Magical Edification now adds ‘Secret Page’, which scales to 1/2 character level.

  • Marshal

    • The Marshal Dedication feat now correctly displays if the Character meets the prereqs. Previously, we used the ‘*’ indicator as a placeholder.
    • The Marshal Dedication allows training up to ‘expert’ proficiency for Diplomacy/Intimidation
    • ‘Devrin’s Cunning Stance’ adds a rollable Decption field to the action row.
    • ‘Dread Marshal Stance’ adds a rollable Intimidation field to the action row.
    • ‘Inspiring Marshal Stance’ adds a rollable Diplomacy field to the action row.

Class Updates

  • Monk

    • Various Monk Stances have been updated to include their special attacks in the Attack groupings on the Character Sheet.
  • Sorcerer

    • Resolved an issue where the Phoenix Bloodline’s ‘Rejuvenating Flames’ focus spell was not added to the Character Sheet when it was selected from the “Add Spells” drawer.
  • Swashbuckler

    • The Buckler Expertise feat now correctly displays a +2 AC bonus (instead of the standard +1 bonus).

Item Updates

  • Expanded Healer’s Tools no longer grant a bonus to all Medicine checks.

  • Weapons with the ‘thrown’ trait now correctly add a Character’s Strength Modifier to the damage roll.

    • For throwable melee weapons: we have included a drop-down toggle in the item drawer for these weapons where a user can toggle between displaying the weapon’s “thrown” and “melee” attack and damage rolls.
    • For throwable ranged weapons: We are adding strength to the damage roll for throwable ranged weapons (and are not using any sort of drop-down mentioned above).

Congratulations on the beta :partying_face:
It feels the character app is changing rapidly for the better every day.

When will the option of choosing a class kit be available in the character builder?

We don’t have a timeline that we can share for class kits yet, but it is on our list. You can find our short-term roadmap each Tuesday on our Dev Update streams (which we recap in the forums afterwards), so you’ll be able to know when that is coming down the pipeline. :slight_smile:
