So, the Gambeson Armor has the description “Flexible (+1 Evasion)”. What kind of bonus do you get to your evasion/ agility if you’re only wearing a t-shirt and shorts? I would guess it is better than wearing a thick cloth padding.
According to the rulebook, the definition or narrative of the gambeson armor its not that you are more agile with it, but that its padding somehow helps you avoid some contact without getting hit (it slips), hence the bonus to evasion, instead of other armor that just absorbs the impact of the Hit (hence using armor slots to diminish the damage done).
This same feedback was given on the 1.2 version when leather armor was the one giving +1 evasion, just basically changed in imagery to something more accurate, I pressume.

I always interpreted Gambeson Armor as anything from wearing reinforced padded cloth to being naked. If your looking for another bonus, then the BARE BONES DC card gives a boost to your AC.
