What's the plan for moving from the Playtest to the Actual SF2 Nexus?

When SF2 goes live, will the Playtest nexus simply be updated to the Live Nexus? Or will there be a different one? And what will happen to the resources from the playtest? I assume they will be labeled “Playtest,” but I was curious.

Thank you for all the great work you all are doing for us! You VERY MUCH appreciated!!

Peace to you!

Hi Qwert!

It’ll be the same Nexus, updated to the full release content.

Playtest content on characters will still work, so your existing characters won’t go away. The playtest options will be no longer selectable on new characters, who’ll use the full rules.

Shouldn’t see too much disruption, as we built the playtest content specifically to make this transition nice and smooth.

Super pumped for the full release!

Thank you so much! I am too! I’ve started running the Dead Suns adventure path from SF1e for my players, using the SF2 rules. Demiplane is a HUGE part of our game! Thank you so much for being amazing!

Peace to you!

so what happens to the playtest adventure stuff? will that be unavailable to buy/unable to be used?

Hoping to get a confirmation from a Demiplane staff here, still wondering if the playtest files will be unable to be purchased after the CRB drops for Starfinder 2e.

The playtest content that’s currently for sale will remain for sale as it consists of adventures. The free playtest rules will no longer be available however as the final rules will be available instead.

I appreciate it! And honestly, it’s the adventures I was most curious about.

I’m curious though: if the PT rules will no longer be available: will any links in the adventure be broken, will they redirect to the CRB, or will the adventures be updated for any changes from PT to Release?

I understand if you don’t have an answer to that, it’s mostly just my speculation. But I do know that one of the best features in Demiplane is the ability to click links and cross reference things.

We prepared for the full release in advance so any tooltips and other QoL things like that won’t be affected. If for some reason something does break it’s generally pretty straight forward for us to be able to fix it! That’s actually a lot of what I do (alongside the rest of my team) when I’m not in the forums chatting with folks.

Amazing! Thank you again for the reply. To be clear: I wasn’t worried so much as curious and speculating. Demiplane has been a fantastic resource. (Other than just sometimes I want offline PDFs, but that’s a Me problem! >.<)

I’ve pre-ordered my SF2e books from Demiplane already… very excited to see them! When will they go live, do you know? Will they be live on July 31 (SF2 Player Core release date) or will they take some time to come online?

Also, I know there’s a staggered release… Player Core on July 31, GM core in October, Alien Core in November… My only real concern is Player Core right now. I can’t wait to read it!

And if it takes Demiplane some time to get everything up and running, that’s fine too. Demiplane is my primary book supplier at this point, and I want you all to have all the time you need to do the amazing work you continually do!

Thank you for everything. Peace to you!

I’m not currently aware of anything that would delay our release of the Starfinder 2E Player Core. We plan to release it at the same time it officially releases on July 31!
