10/16/24 - Patch Notes: Starfinder Errata & the Taming of the Tooltip

Hello everyone! It’s time for another delicious and nutritious patch update. While we’re preparing for next week’s Month of Darkness releases, we’ve also been getting some updates in for the overall platform, along with some smaller updates for a couple of our Nexuses.

Also, did you hear about that Cyberpunk RED Nexus? Yeah. I heard it was pretty darn preem. You can check it out right here!

What is this?

In these regular patches, we’ll be releasing fixes and updates to items on our larger NEXUSes (like Vampire and Pathfinder), and summarizing updates that have been released for smaller NEXUSes in the time since our last update.

Patch Updates

Demiplane Platform

  • Links inside of the character builder will now open to a new tab. Keep your place while going down the Demiplane rabbit hole! (Seriously, have you ever tried just clicking the first link of every page and seeing where it takes you? Don’t tell me I need new hobbies.)
  • Tooltip hover behaviour is now a little less eager, keeping your screen real estate under control. Unless you really want to push the limit.

Marvel Multiverse

  • Fixed a minor typo in the Bolts of Balthakk power.

Vampire: the Masquerade

  • Just some secret work and support for upcoming pregen support. Get excited, kindred!

Starfinder

You may need to remove and re-add any character builder or sheet options to see the changes.

  • Released support for Errata #3! All content should be updated. Check out Paizo’s blog for the detailed notes.
  • Added action icons to all SF2e spell detail pages.
  • Fixed an issue where Deflecting Field couldn’t be installed. defshieldOS is now ready for battle!
  • Fixed broken links in the Mystic, Operative, Soldier, and Witchwarper primers.
  • The Operative’s Ghost specialization now grants the correct proficiency. They were so deceptive, they deceived us into thinking they weren’t deceptive.
  • Fixed the duplicate display of Warp Reality in the Witchwarper’s Quantum Field feature. Starting to wonder if these Starfinder classes are becoming sentient.

Pathfinder

You may need to remove and re-add any character builder or sheet options to see the changes.

  • Added action icons to all PF2e spell detail pages.
  • Added the goblin weapon trait to goblin guns for all your goblin filter needs. Gobble gobble gobble.
  • Made the descriptive choices inside of the Bully or Baiter background a bit snappier, so you don’t miss anything important. (Curtain Call Player’s Guide)
  • Hardwood armor was acting heavier than it should. The strength requirement has been set to it’s appropriate level, now. (Rage of Elements)
  • The Storm Hammer has been nerfed. And by nerfed, we mean fixed because it was somehow sneaking in a bonus +10 it shouldn’t have had. (Lost Omens: Highhelm)
  • Added the “class” trait to Runelord, Elementalist, Wellspring Mage, Spellshot, and Flexible Spellcaster archetypes.
  • Corrected an issue where the Ranger’s Initiate Warden and Advanced Warden feats were giving invisible spells. Or should we say they were camouflaged? Either way, your ranger wardens can see the spells now! (Player Core)
  • Cathartic Mage has had their emotions brought back in check. This archetype is still not fully supported, but it should now be blessedly free of bugs. More updates to come! (Secrets of Magic)
  • Guns & Gears has been updated to fix a large number of broken links. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, or something.
  • Speaking of broken links, the following class primers have been updated to fix some bad ones: Champion, Sorcerer, Swashbuckler, Magus, and Kineticist.

Why the change?

With the new cache improvements, we don’t want to break your character’s cache on larger NEXUSes as frequently as we make small improvements and fixes. Instead, we’ll push them all at once on a regular cadence, so that you keep your improved load-times for longer! Read more here .

I noticed a problem!

Thanks for your eagle eyes! Please post about it in the sub-forum for that toolset at your leisure. If it’s a quick fix, we’ll get it in our next patch. Otherwise, we’ll make sure it gets to the right team member for deeper work.
